Attack
LE Limitations
The Attack LE is limited to the lower 12 sounds and 8 voices. If you want to play melodic sounds (the upper 12 sounds) you must upgrade to the full version of the Waldorf Edition.
VST 2.4 compliance
Attack 1.2.2 and higher is fully VST 2.4 compliant. It also supports legacy hosts based on VST 2.0 to 2.3.
Support for Novation RemoteSL
The Attack 1.2.2 and higher can be controlled through the Novation RemoteSL controllers. Please note that the host where the Attack is running in must support the AutoMap feature.
Please note that only a fraction of the parameters of the Attack can be controlled through the RemoteSL. The Attack has more than thousand automatable parameters due to its 24 different sounds at once while the RemoteSL only allows to control up to 72 parameters.
To accommodate this, we have limited the automation set of the RemoteSL to control the 9 most meaningful parameters of the first 8 sounds.

The Attack 1.2.2 and higher now comes in the additional flavor of an AudioUnit Instrument, Apple's standard plug-in format on Mac OS X. It passes the latest AU Validation Tool that was available at the time of its development.
Universal Binary [Mac only]
The VST and AudioUnit Instrument of the Attack 1.2.2 and higher are compiled as Universal Binaries. This means that they can be used on Macintosh computers with PowerPC as well as Intel processors.
File Import [Mac only]
VST and AudioUnit Instruments use a different file format. To make sure that all sounds and banks can be interchanged between VST and AudioUnit format, we added a File Import feature to the Attack plug-in.
The Attack can import files of the following formats:
- VST FX Program (.fxp)
- VST FX Bank (.fxb)
- AudioUnit Preset (.aupreset)
To import a file, follow these steps:
- Select "Import File" from the Edit Menu
- In the Open Dialog, select the file you want to import. If the file is greyed out, make sure that it has the proper suffix of the corresponding file type
- Confirm the selection with OK
Location of the Factory Sound Banks
On Mac OS X, the Attack Factory Sound Banks are located in:
/Library/Audio/Presets/Waldorf/Attack
Files with the suffix .fxb or .fxp are VST FX Banks or Programs, files with the suffix .aupreset are AudioUnit presets.
On Windows, the Attack Factory Sound Banks are located in:
